Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Chair Rabi Lamichhane made a strong appearance in Sarlahi-4 on Wednesday, turning heads as he addressed local voters. The constituency has become a hot spot this election, with Nepali Congress President Gagan Thapa also contesting and RSP fielding Amresh Kumar Singh, a three-time winner, against him.
Speaking to the crowd, Lamichhane took a subtle yet sharp jab at Thapa, pointing out that coming from Kathmandu and claiming to be a “son of Madhesh” was not enough to win the trust of local voters. He said the people of Sarlahi now have the responsibility to ensure that outsiders cannot take control of their constituency.
Highlighting a broader vision, Lamichhane called for an end to identity-based politics, urging voters to look beyond “Madhesh vs. hill” labels. He emphasized that the focus should be on national development, justice, and equal opportunity for all Nepalis.
Reflecting on his past contributions to the area, Lamichhane appealed for voter support, saying that while he has fought for Sarlahi before, this time, both he and the nation need the people’s trust and cooperation to deliver justice and progress.
