Nepali Congress leader Gokul Baskota has accused Sher Bahadur Tamang of making aggressive public remarks against him.
Responding on social media on Saturday, Baskota claimed that Tamang attacked him publicly simply because he had expressed his own opinion.
“I did not want to say this, but Sher Bahadur Tamang publicly went after me just because I cast my vote,” Baskota wrote.
He further accused Tamang of being an extreme opportunist who would switch factions for personal gain and, if necessary, even split the party to secure a position.
“You are not just someone who changes factions for your own and your spouse’s position, but an extreme opportunist who would repeatedly split the party if needed. Look at the history since 038 BS,” Baskota added.
Both leaders are recognized as influential figures within the CPN-UML. Recently, there has been an increasing trend of public accusations and counter-accusations among party leaders on various issues.
