Nepal’s commercial banks have revised interest rates for Kartik, with most banks maintaining previous rates or making slight reductions. Among 20 banks, nine adjusted their rates, while the rest kept them unchanged.

Standard fixed deposits now yield between 2.75% and 2.78%, while one-year personal fixed deposits range from 3.25% to 4.5%, and longer-term deposits can reach up to 6%. Institutional deposits for one year are mostly at 2.75%, though Global IME Bank offers 3.25%, with other banks like NMB, Laxmi Sunrise, and Machhapuchhre Bank at 3%. Rates for institutional deposits over one year go up to 4.5%.

The adjustments reflect a gradual decline in borrowing costs and aim to balance competitive returns for depositors with current market conditions. Customers are advised to consider account type and deposit duration to maximize interest.
