Oli Holds Firm on Leadership Amid Rising Political Tensions

CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli has decided to retain his position at the helm of the party, rejecting calls for his resignation during the ongoing Central Committee meeting. The move comes amid internal party debates over leadership changes and mounting political pressures from the interim government led by Prime Minister Sushila Karki.

Oli’s continued leadership reflects his decades-long involvement in Nepal’s political movement and his insistence on party unity. The General Convention remains the forum for any future decisions regarding his position. 

Meanwhile, tensions between the CPN-UML leadership and the caretaker administration have intensified, fueled by recent political mobilizations and protests across the country.
