Netra Bikram Chand, chair of the Nepal Communist Party (Maoist), and Miraj Dhungana, leader of the Gen-Z group, have agreed to work together in a joint political movement.
The agreement was signed in Kathmandu on Thursday. Under the four-point deal, both sides will jointly organize protests and political activities in the coming days.
As per the agreement, they will raise the issues put forward by the Gen-Z movement, work for constitutional amendments based on public wishes, support the formation of a stable government, set up a special judicial body to fight corruption, and move ahead with progressive state restructuring.
Although the Chand-led Maoist party has agreed to cooperate with the Gen-Z group in the movement, it is also continuing preparations to take part in the election scheduled for March 5.
