The Nepali national cricket team will travel to Sri Lanka and India for training ahead of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, which will be jointly hosted by India and Sri Lanka.
According to the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN), the team will first complete two training phases in Nepal. After that, they will go abroad for further preparation. In Sri Lanka, Nepal will play practice matches against the Sri Lanka ‘A’ team. In India, they will play practice matches against the Mumbai Cricket Association team.
At present, the Nepali team is training at the Extratech Oval cricket ground in Rupandehi. The team will travel to Sri Lanka next week and train there for about one week. After finishing training in Sri Lanka, the team will head to Mumbai, India, for final preparations.
The Nepali national team is led by captain Rohit Paudel. The squad includes vice-captain Dipendra Singh Airi, Sompal Kami, Karan KC, Nandan Yadav, Sandeep Lamichhane, Kushal Bhurtel, Aasif Sheikh, Sandeep Jora, Aarif Sheikh, Bashir Ahmed, Gulshan Jha, Lalit Rajbanshi, Sher Malla, and Lokesh Bam
