18-Month-Old Dies, 12 Injured in Kankai Road Accident

An 18-month-old child, Aarut Rajbanshi, died and 12 others were injured in a road accident this morning in Naya Basti, Kankai Municipality-3, along the East-West Highway.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Khagendra Bahadur Khadka from the District Police Office, the accident happened when a container truck (Me 1 Cha 4515) traveling from Biratamode to Maidhar collided head-on with a bus (Na 5 Kha 2149) coming from the opposite direction.

Some of the injured are in serious condition. The police are searching for the bus driver. The container truck driver, 39-year-old Jaqeer Hussain from Biratamode Municipality-6, has been taken into police custody for further investigation.
