After the Nepali Congress held its second Special General Convention on Thursday, the newly elected party leaders, including President Gagan Thapa and Vice President Bishwaprakash Sharma, visited the Election Commission (EC) to update the party’s executive records.
They went to the EC after holding their first Central Committee meeting in Kupondole, Lalitpur, where they are scheduled to meet Acting Chief Election Commissioner Ram Prasad Bhandari.
During the meeting, the committee decided that all official party documents and decisions would now carry President Thapa’s signature instead of Sher Bahadur Deuba’s.
The committee also appointed Devaraj Chalise as the party’s spokesperson. Speaking to the media, Chalise said preparations were underway to update all necessary records.
He added that Thapa’s signature would replace Deuba’s in all official matters. “After the party’s second Special General Convention, many updates need to be made in the EC records,” Chalise said.
