Bhatbhateni Honors Security Guards for Their Courageous Efforts During Protest

Bhatbhateni Supermarket has recognized the bravery of its security guards, who tried to prevent looting at its Koteshwar branch during the March 28 protest.

Following a protest in Kathmandu’s Tinkune, a group of people attempted to loot the supermarket. The security guards put up a strong resistance, though the looters still managed to cause damage. A video of security guard Dul Prasad Parajuli’s efforts went viral on social media, earning him widespread praise.

In recognition of his courage, Bhatbhateni’s owner, Min Bahadur Gurung, awarded Parajuli five lakh rupees in cash and promoted him by five grades. Other security guards involved were also given cash rewards.

Police have arrested nine individuals linked to the looting attempt, and an investigation is ongoing at Baneshwar Police Station. The supermarket reported that the incident resulted in damages worth around Rs 80 lakh.
