Ousted Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, along with his family, has fled to Moscow after rebel forces took control of Damascus on Sunday.

Russian media reports that Russia has granted them asylum, providing refuge as the situation in Syria worsens. Moscow has called for urgent talks to help the Syrian people and improve relations with Russia. They also suggested that a political solution to the crisis could be reached through dialogue with rebel leaders. Russia has offered to host peace talks in Moscow and help organize them.
Meanwhile, Western countries have welcomed the fall of Assad’s government. France, the United Kingdom, and Germany praised the end of Assad’s rule.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called it a "historic" day for the Middle East but warned of possible instability and further risks in the region. The future of Syria remains uncertain as the country’s political situation changes rapidly.
