In Salyan, 28 complaints regarding violations of the election code of conduct have been registered with the District Code of Conduct Monitoring Committee. Assistant Chief District Officer and Monitoring Officer Harishchandra Sharma said 25 complaints were filed verbally and three in writing.

“Since registering written complaints takes longer, the committee has also accepted verbal complaints,” he explained. “The complaints come from political party workers, activists, and the general public.”

The complaints include local representatives and teachers engaging in election campaigning, posting materials on social media, and putting up posters in violation of the code. Some also involve local officials using government resources for campaign activities or inaugurating projects during the election period.

Sharma emphasized that such violations could affect the fairness and transparency of the elections, prompting the committee to tighten monitoring. All complaints are being investigated, and appropriate action will be taken.
