Nepal’s internet service market has become increasingly crowded, with more than two dozen companies competing for customers. Instead of prioritizing service quality, most providers appear focused on aggressively expanding their subscriber base. Companies such as WorldLink, DishHome, and Nepal Telecom, along with many others, are currently dominating the market.

According to the latest data released by the Nepal Telecommunications Authority (NTA), WorldLink holds the largest share of the internet market as of mid-November. WorldLink’s subscriber base has reached 1.055 million, making it the country’s leading internet service provider. DishHome follows in second place with 382,000 customers.

The state-owned Nepal Telecom ranks third in terms of market share, serving around 374,000 subscribers. Vianet stands fourth with 340,000 customers, reflecting its aggressive market expansion strategy, while Classic Tech ranks fifth with 268,000 subscribers as of mid-November.

Subisu Internet is positioned sixth with 255,000 customers, followed by WebSurfer in seventh place with 176,000 subscribers. TechMinds ranks eighth with 123,000 customers, while WiFi Nepal and CG Communication occupy the ninth and tenth positions respectively.

Despite intense competition and rapid growth in customer numbers, consumers continue to express dissatisfaction with internet services. Many users complain that internet service providers are slow to address technical issues and service disruptions, raising concerns about overall service quality in the sector.
