Westerly Winds Affect Nepal: Fog in Terai, Light Rain and Snowfall Possible in High Hills

The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology says that westerly winds are affecting the country at present. Because of this, fog has been seen in many areas of the Terai and valleys. The hilly and mountainous regions are partly cloudy.
According to the forecast, some places in the Terai may have fog until noon. The high hills and mountains will mostly remain cloudy, while other hilly areas will be partly cloudy. The Terai is expected to have mostly clear weather. There is a chance of light rain and snowfall at one or two places in the high hills and mountains of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces.
At night, fog may form again in some Terai areas. The high hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi and Gandaki provinces will likely stay cloudy, while the rest of the country will have mostly clear skies. Light rain and snowfall are possible at one or two places in the high hills and mountains of these provinces.
The department also said that fog may continue in some Terai areas until noon and that air pollution could remain in the Terai and valleys because there has been little rain. People and concerned authorities have been advised to stay careful during unfavorable weather conditions.
