A total of 149,000 trained election police have joined Nepal Police and Armed Police teams to ensure free, fair, and secure elections, with layered security provided by the police, armed forces, and Nepali Army.

For the upcoming elections on Falgun 21, the newly recruited “Election Police” are set to be deployed in the field starting today. After recruitment and selection, 149,000 election police, also called temporary police, have completed a 10-day training program and will now join the security teams of the Nepal Police and Armed Police Force.
Out of these, the Nepal Police appointed 133,980 election police, while the Armed Police Force appointed 15,110 on Magh 18.
To ensure the House of Representatives election is conducted in a free, fair, impartial, and fear-free environment, a unified security plan for 2082 has already deployed the Nepali Army since the 21st of the previous month.
The Nepal Police and election police will secure the inner perimeter of polling stations, the Armed Police Force will manage the second layer of security, and the Nepali Army will oversee the outer perimeter, ensuring comprehensive security coverage.
