Pakistan defeated the United States by 32 runs in the ICC T20 World Cup, securing their second consecutive victory. Chasing a target of 191 runs at the Sinhalese Sports Club (SSC) Ground in Colombo, the USA managed 158 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in 20 overs.
Despite a half-century from Shubham Ranjane (51 off 30 balls) and 49 runs from opener Shayan Jahangir, the USA fell short. Milind Kumar scored 29, while wicketkeeper Andries Gous added 13. No other batter reached double figures. For Pakistan, Usman Tariq took 3 wickets, Shadab Khan claimed 2, and Shaheen Shah Afridi, Abrar Ahmed, and Mohammad Nawaz picked up one wicket each.
Earlier, Pakistan posted 190/9 in 20 overs after being asked to bat first. Sahibzada Farhan top-scored with 73 off 41 balls, while Babar Azam made 46 and Shadab Khan added a quick 30. For the USA, Saurabh Netravalkar took 4 wickets for 25 runs, marking his second consecutive four-wicket haul in the tournament.
With two wins from two matches, Pakistan lead Group A with 4 points. The USA, having also lost to India earlier, suffered their second straight defeat.
