Weather Change Likely Across Country, Rain and Snow Forecast

The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has forecast a change in weather across the country due to the influence of western winds.

This afternoon, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces are expected to remain mostly cloudy. Hilly areas of other provinces may see partly cloudy skies, while most parts of the Terai are likely to stay clear. The Department has said that some areas of Sudurpaschim may receive moderate rain, and Karnali along with high hilly and Himalayan regions of the Far West may experience light snowfall.

Tonight, cloud cover is expected to increase in Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces, while other areas will remain partly cloudy. Moderate rain with thunder and lightning is likely in Lumbini, Karnali, Sudurpaschim, and some parts of Gandaki.

High hilly and Himalayan areas of Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim may receive moderate snowfall along with thunder and lightning. Some places in Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim could also see rain with thunder, lightning, and hail.

The Department has warned that these weather conditions, linked to climate change, may affect daily life, tourism, health services, and air and road transport, and has asked people to take necessary precautions.
