Nepal is currently under the influence of a weak westerly system, according to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology. Frost has been observed in the Terai and valley areas, while the high hills and Himalayan regions, including parts of Sudurpaschim and Karnali provinces, remain generally cloudy. The Department said fog is likely to continue in some Terai areas until noon today. The weather will be mostly cloudy in the high hills and mountainous regions, partly cloudy in other hilly areas, and mostly clear in the plains. There is a possibility of light rain or snowfall at one or two places in the high hills and Himalayan areas of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces. Tonight, cold conditions are expected in parts of the Terai, while the rest of the country will remain mostly clear, with partly cloudy skies in the high hills and Himalayan regions. Light rain or snowfall may also occur in one or two locations in the high hills and Himalayan areas of Koshi, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces. The Department has warned that as fog may persist and no immediate rainfall is expected, air pollution could continue in the Terai region and the Kathmandu Valley.
