Nepal Communist Party (UML) General Secretary Shankar Pokharel has announced that the party’s election manifesto will be made public in the first week of Falgun.
Speaking at an event organized by Press Chautari Nepal in Kathmandu on Friday, he explained that the delay in releasing the manifesto was due to the Election Commission’s schedule. Pokharel clarified that since the Commission had set the election timetable after the official start of the election code of conduct, political parties had to postpone the release of their manifestos accordingly.
He stated that as soon as the Election Commission’s schedule allows, UML will release its manifesto.
He said, “In this election, the Election Commission provided the schedule for the campaign only after candidate registration. Currently, only internal meetings are ongoing. The election campaign itself cannot start yet due to the code of conduct. Once the official campaign period begins, UML will present its election manifesto, and our candidates will begin promoting it. We are likely to release the manifesto in the first week of Falgun.”
General Secretary Pokharel also added that once the manifesto is released, party candidates will actively share it with the public. He noted that the party has already consulted experts in preparing the manifesto.
