The CPN-UML Secretariat meets today at 1 PM in Chyasal to discuss preparations for the 11th General Convention, recent mass demonstrations, and political developments in Madhes. The meeting will also review Tuesday’s Bara incident and form subcommittees for the convention.
UML will select delegates nationwide on Mangsir 13, with results to be submitted by Mangsir 15. The party is also preparing legal and street protests against the House dissolution, assigning former chief whip Mahesh Bartaula and whip Sunita Baral to lead legal preparations.
With parliamentary elections set for Fagun 21 and party registration from Mangsir 1–10, UML is expected to discuss its strategy as it continues to question the government’s ability to conduct elections.
