The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) closed slightly lower on Wednesday, reversing Tuesday’s gain of 15.70 points. Market turnover also declined, dropping to Rs 3.71 billion from the previous day’s Rs 4.10 billion.
A total of 82.79 lakh shares of 338 scrips were traded. Despite the mild decline in the benchmark index, eight companies hit the positive circuit limit, including Mabilung Energy, Dharamkhola Hydropower, Sagar Distillery, Himstar Energy, Bungal Hydropower, Synergy, Bandipur Cable Car, and Jhapa Energy.
Of the traded stocks, 63 gained, 187 declined, and 6 remained unchanged.
In terms of turnover, Barun Hydropower topped the chart with trades worth Rs 270 million, followed by Sahas Urja (Rs 190 million), Radhi Hydropower (Rs 150 million), Union Hydropower (Rs 110 million), and Synergy Power (Rs 100 million).
Only four sectoral sub-indices, Hotels, Manufacturing & Processing, Mutual Funds, and Trading closed in positive territory, while all other groups ended the day lower.
