A curfew was enforced in Simara on Wednesday after clashes broke out between police and Gen-Z youths protesting the planned arrival of CPN-UML leaders Shankar Pokharel and Mahesh Basnet.
The Bara District Administration Office imposed the restriction from 12:30 PM to 8:00 PM, barring movement and all forms of public gatherings within 500 meters of the Gandak Canal–Pathlaiya road section and around Simara Airport.
The protesters had gathered near the airport as the UML leaders were scheduled to pass through Simara en route to a programme in Parwanipur.
