In the Nepal Premier League (NPL) Season 2, Karnali Yaks set a target of 167 runs for Chitwan Rhinos in Tuesday’s match at Tribhuvan International Cricket Ground. Batting first after losing the toss, Karnali finished their 20 overs at 166/3.
Opener Priyank Panchal was the star for Karnali, scoring 90 runs off 48 balls, including 7 fours and 6 sixes. He shared a 61-run opening partnership with Maxwell O’Dowd, which was broken by Saif Zaib, who bowled O’Dowd for 20 runs from 30 balls. Karnali reached their 100-run mark in 13.5 overs for the loss of just one wicket.
Panchal was eventually dismissed in the 15.4th over, caught by Dev Khanal off Ravi Bopara’s bowling, with the team at 124/2. Mark Watt contributed 16 runs off 21 balls, while Pawan Sarraf remained unbeaten on 27 and Najibullah Zadran on 4. Sarraf’s aggressive hitting in the final two overs, including 1 four and 3 sixes off 16 balls, helped Karnali post a competitive total.
For Chitwan Rhinos, Saif Zaib, Ravi Bopara, and Sohil Tanvir picked up one wicket each.
