Citing concerns over transparency and parliamentary norms in the appointment of Madhesh Province Chief Minister Saroj Kumar Yadav, the Supreme Court has ordered him not to make any policy-level or strategic decisions until his case is fully reviewed.

The interim order, issued Tuesday by Justices Nahakul Subedi and Sunil Kumar Pokhrel, directs that the government formed on November 9 must refrain from decisions with long-term impact while the matter is under judicial consideration.

The writ petition was filed by Nepali Congress Parliamentary Party leader Krishna Prasad Yadav, challenging the legality of CM Yadav’s appointment from CPN-UML. The final hearing is scheduled for November 27.
