The identities of two people who died in a jeep accident at Chainpur Municipality–2 in Sankhuwasabha have been confirmed.
The victims are 59-year-old Bir Bahadur Limbu of Chainpur–9 and Anish Thuklung of Chainpur–1, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police Kumar Prasad Mainali of the District Police Office.
The jeep (Pra 1-001 Cha 8247), which was going from Chainpur to Bihibare, met with an accident on Sunday evening.
Four others were injured in the accident. They are Nim Dorjee Sherpa, 34, of Chainpur–1; nine-year-old Pemba Sherpa; Bhim Bahadur Thulung, 45, of Chainpur Maidane; and Dipesh Majhi, 28, of Phidim Municipality–4 in Panchthar.
The injured Nim Dorjee, Bhim Bahadur, and Dipesh have been referred to BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences for further treatment. Police said the cause of the accident is not yet known and an investigation is ongoing.
