EC sets up Joint Election Centre to tackle voting issues

The Election Commission (EC) has set up a Joint Election Operation Centre to quickly handle any problems that arise during the House of Representatives elections.

The Centre is located at the EC office in Kathmandu. It was inaugurated on Sunday by Acting Chief Election Commissioner Ram Prasad Bhandari.

Bhandari said the Centre will step in to solve issues in constituencies if local voting centres cannot resolve them.

The Centre will be led by the EC Secretary, along with a Joint Secretary from the Home Ministry and representatives from security agencies.

It will gather information, analyse it, and make quick decisions to keep the election process running smoothly.
