A jeep accident in Baitadi early this morning left two people dead and six others injured during a trip from Dhangadhi to Darchula.

A heartbreaking road accident took place early this morning in Khipali, Patan-6 of Baitadi district, claiming two lives and injuring six others. The jeep, with registration number Su.Pra. 04 001 Ja 1372, was heading from Dhangadhi to Ganna in Darchula when it crashed around 5:30 AM.
According to Inspector Balram Pandey, spokesperson for the District Police Office in Baitadi, the deceased have been identified as 24-year-old Santosh Bahadur Rana, the driver of the vehicle, and 32-year-old Kiran Bohora. Both were residents of Dilasaini Rural Municipality-1. Their untimely deaths have brought immense sorrow to their families and community.
Among the injured are 45-year-old Ram Kumar Rana, 21-year-old Bhagwati Khatri, her 2-year-old daughter Alisha, 21-year-old Hemanta Prasad Bhatt, 27-year-old Rajendra Bahadur Khatri, and 51-year-old Kamala Dhami. While all injured are receiving medical attention, Rajendra and Kamala had to be referred to Dhangadhi for more advanced treatment due to the seriousness of their injuries.
The cause of the accident is still under investigation. As families cope with the shock and pain, locals have expressed concern over road safety, especially on long and difficult rural routes where accidents are becoming more common.
