Thapa, Sharma Attend NC Special Convention Despite Expulsion

Even after being expelled by the Sher Bahadur Deuba faction of the Nepali Congress, General Secretaries Gagan Kumar Thapa and Bishwa Prakash Sharma attended the ongoing Special General Convention.

At a closed session, Thapa told the delegates that the convention will continue according to its own rules. “This Special Convention has been called and organized by 2,488 delegates exercising their rights,” he said.

He added that attempts were made to resolve issues outside the convention, but they were unsuccessful. Thapa emphasized that the convention will move forward as decided by the majority of its delegates.
