The ongoing conflict over Nepal’s football league structure has deepened, with talks between the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) and protesting players collapsing before they even began.

The meeting, scheduled for Monday at the ANFA Complex in Satdobato, was meant to address disputes over ANFA’s decision to cancel this year’s A Division League and hold only the National League. However, the players, led by Nepal Football Players’ Association President Bikram Lama, refused to sit for discussions after ANFA declined their demand to broadcast the talks live.

The footballers said they wanted full transparency in all negotiations and warned they would not participate in any closed-door meetings. ANFA had invited the players in hopes of resolving growing dissatisfaction over its recent decisions, but with neither side willing to back down, the standoff appears set to continue.
