Prime Minister Sushila Karki on Sunday visited Lumbini, the sacred birthplace of Lord Gautam Buddha, while on a tour to review election preparations and assess the situation in different provinces.

 

During her visit, the Prime Minister offered prayers and expressed her best wishes for the successful and peaceful conduct of the upcoming elections in the country.

 

Earlier in the morning, she received a briefing in Butwal from security chiefs of Lumbini Province and election-related officials regarding the status of election preparations. Following the briefing, she traveled to Lumbini to pay homage at the birthplace of Gautam Buddha.

 

The Prime Minister also interacted with devotees and local residents during the visit. Members of the public presented her with flowers and extended their wishes for success in establishing peace and ensuring a political way forward through the elections.
