Technology company Google has unveiled its new artificial intelligence (AI) model, Gemini 3.1 Pro. The company said the model is designed to deliver even more powerful capabilities for solving complex problems.

Just three months after releasing Gemini 3 Pro on November 19, Google has launched the advanced version, Gemini 3.1 Pro. According to the company, the new model provides “significant improvements in core reasoning” and creates a stronger foundation for tackling complex challenges.

Google claims that Gemini 3.1 Pro outperforms its predecessor, Gemini 3 Pro, as well as competing models from other companies across various AI benchmarks.

The model is designed for situations “where simple answers are not sufficient.” It uses advanced reasoning techniques to handle multi-layered tasks and complex questions. Google says Gemini 3.1 Pro is capable of producing clear and visual explanations of complex topics, integrating large amounts of data, and assisting in creative workflows.

Gemini 3.1 Pro is available to all users through the Gemini app, though Google AI Pro and Google AI Ultra members receive higher usage limits. The model is also accessible via Notebook L.A., but access there is limited to Pro and Ultra members. Analysts note that the release of this advanced version intensifies competition in the generative AI space, particularly around strengthening reasoning capabilities.
