NPL 2024: Sudurpashchim Royals Secure Top Position with Victory Over Karnali Yaks

The playoff scenario of the Nepal Premier League (NPL) has been finalized.

On Monday, Sudurpashchim Royals defeated Karnali Yaks by 6 wickets in the last match of the league phase, the playoff equation was completed. 

After 28 league matches, Sudurpashchim finished at the top with 12 points, while Janakpur Royals secured second place with 10 points. Chitwan Rhinos, with 8 points, finished in third place, and Karnali, also with 8 points, took the fourth spot after losing the last match. Kathmandu Gurkhas, who also had 8 points, were eliminated due to a lower net run rate.

Now, in the first qualifier, Sudurpashchim will face Janakpur. In the Eliminator, Chitwan will compete with Karnali. On Wednesday morning, the Eliminator will take place, followed by the first qualifier in the afternoon. The winner of the Eliminator will advance to the second qualifier, while the losing team will be eliminated. The winner of the first qualifier will reach the final, while the losing team will play in the second qualifier. 

The second qualifier will take place on Thursday, and the final will be held on Saturday.
