On Saturday, opposition parties Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) and Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) walked out of the House of Representatives. They are protesting the visit visa scandal involving Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak.

The protest happened just before Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli was set to speak. Lawmakers from both parties stood up in protest inside the chamber, demanding that the Home Minister resign and that a high-level investigation committee be formed.

Even though Speaker Devraj Ghimire gave time for the Prime Minister to speak, RSP and RPP lawmakers left the parliament floor as soon as the announcement was made.

Despite their walkout, the House session continued with other lawmakers from both the ruling and opposition sides speaking. RSP and RPP have been strongly raising concerns about corruption in the visit visa issue, saying it has harmed thousands of Nepali youths trying to go abroad.
