Ramkumari Jhankri, a central leader of the CPN (Unified Socialist), has stirred significant discussion within her party after publicly questioning the leadership of party chair Madhav Kumar Nepal. Her speech, delivered on Saturday during a gathering of the party’s youth wing in Lumbini Province, has since gone viral on social media.
Addressing the audience, Jhankri said the party is going through a crisis and claimed that even Chairman Nepal himself is facing challenges. She suggested that the solution lies in restructuring the party rather than ignoring the issues.
“There’s no use running away from the crisis,” she said. “Let’s reorganize the party. If needed, let’s go for an early general convention, elect new leadership from the floor, and move forward.”
Jhankri added that the crisis isn’t just about the party chairman but involves other members as well. “When there’s a dead weight on your shoulders, you have to let it go. If we truly want to reform, we must make a fresh start,” she said, encouraging youth participation in future leadership roles.
Her remarks have sparked internal debate and public attention, indicating growing tension within the party’s leadership.
