The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has accused the government of mistreating its Chairman, Rabi Lamichhane, while he was in police custody. The party claims that Lamichhane's diary went missing during his time in custody.

On Friday, RSP spokesperson Manish Jha issued a statement, saying that Lamichhane’s treatment was unfair and even criminal. The party has asked the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) and other human rights groups to look into the case.

Lamichhane is being investigated for fraud related to five cooperatives. However, the RSP says that Lamichhane is not a criminal, but an accused person who is cooperating with the legal process. They argue that his rights are being violated, and his treatment is cruel.

The RSP also criticized the government for transferring Lamichhane from Chitwan Police to Kaski Police at night, calling it unfair.

In its statement, the RSP said Lamichhane’s rights are being ignored, and they asked the government to explain its actions. They also demanded that those responsible for the missing diary and Lamichhane’s mistreatment be punished according to the law.

The party believes Lamichhane, a popular public figure, should be treated fairly and his rights should be respected during the investigation.
