A proposal to amend the Constitution to extend the presidential term limit has been introduced in the United States.
Republican lawmakers presented the constitutional amendment proposal in the House of Representatives shortly after President Donald Trump began his second term. Republican Congressman Andy Ogles introduced the proposal, which includes provisions to extend the presidential term limit.

If the proposal is passed, an individual could serve as president for a maximum of three terms. Under the 22nd Amendment, currently, no person can serve as president for more than two terms. The issue of constitutional amendment has emerged after President Trump’s return to the White House. The proposed amendment allows a person to run for the presidency for three terms, although a person who has been elected president twice consecutively would not be able to claim a third term.

Meanwhile, Trump has directed that all confidential government documents related to the assassinations of former President John F. Kennedy, his brother Senator Robert F. Kennedy, and civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr. be made public. President Kennedy was assassinated in 1963.
