Repair work is underway on the Rasuwagadhi–Syafrubesi road, damaged by a recent flood in the Bhotekoshi River. Authorities say vehicles might be able to pass in a day or two.

The most difficult section is at Lingling, where a big landslide blocked the road. Heavy machines are being used to cut through rocks. If weather conditions stay good, the road could open for small vehicles by Friday.

The flood on Asar 24 came from the Chinese side and caused huge damage. Eleven people died, 18 are missing, and more than 100 vehicles were swept away. The Nepal–China Friendship Bridge was also destroyed.

Other parts of the road are already repaired, but work at Lingling is still ongoing. There is no clear date yet for the bridge’s reconstruction, but China has started sending machines to the site.
