Former President Bidya Devi Bhandari has extended best wishes on the occasion of Saune Sankranti and Luto Falne Festival (2082 BS).
Through a message shared on her official Twitter (X) page today, she wished happiness, peace, good health, and prosperity to all Nepali brothers and sisters.
In her message, she said that Saune Sankranti is closely connected with nature, weather patterns, agricultural practices, and communal lifestyle. She also noted that this festival, celebrated on the first day of the Nepali month of Shrawan, reminds us of our traditional knowledge, biological awareness, and cultural values.
She stated, "As the month of Asar ends and farming activities are ongoing, the first day of Shrawan celebrated as this festival helps us remember our age-old wisdom and cultural roots."
Former President Bhandari further mentioned that the Luto Falne tradition is not only based on the belief of preventing skin diseases but also reflects respect for plant life, biodiversity, and community cooperation. She added that such festivals inspire us to preserve our culture and stay connected with nature.
