Myagdi district has witnessed notable progress in irrigation and flood control works during the fiscal year 2024/25, with major efforts led by the Drinking Water, Water Resources and Irrigation Development Division Office. Irrigation facilities have been extended to 52 hectares of land, while systems on an additional 70 hectares have been upgraded. Division Chief Jhalak Mohan Ojha said these achievements were made possible through the construction of six kilometers of concrete canals, 6.11 kilometers of pipeline networks, five dams, and 47 irrigation-related structures.

Out of 22 targeted irrigation projects, 21 have already been completed, utilizing Rs 44.14 million, 91.31 percent of the total Rs 48.34 million allocated budget. Alongside irrigation development, the division has also carried out flood and landslide control activities under the river control program. This includes the construction of 40 meters of concrete walls and 250 meters of gabion walls at six flood-prone sites. In addition, gabion walls were built in Begma Beg of Raghuganga-1 to prevent landslides.

According to Chief Ojha, the river control initiative has benefited 110 families and improved around 2.5 hectares of land. Of the Rs 155 million allocated for this purpose, Rs 147.69 million has already been spent.
