Top leaders of the Unified Socialist Party faced embarrassment when they went to support the ongoing teachers' protest in Maitighar. The protestors rejected them and asked them to leave.

Party chairman Madhav Kumar Nepal and senior leader Jhalanath Khanal had planned to speak at the protest to show support. But the teachers did not welcome them. Instead, they shouted slogans saying, “No leader needs to come here. If you want to speak, do it in Parliament.”

The leaders tried to talk to the crowd but were met with more slogans. Feeling unwelcome and disrespected, they left the protest area, escorted by police.

Meanwhile, the teachers continued their protest march toward Bijuli Bazaar, shouting slogans against police actions and pointing fingers at the leaders.

Laxmi Kishor Subedi, President of the Nepal Teachers’ Federation, responded by saying, “There are efforts to divide our movement through false rumors. Please be careful. Our movement is clear and based on a 24-point demand. There are no secret agreements like the 9-point or 7-point rumors being spread.”
