Nine Accused in Dhankaul Road Corruption

The Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has filed a corruption case against nine people for irregularities in building an agricultural road in Dhankaul rural municipality in Sarlahi district.

The case was filed at the Special Court, naming Krishnamohan Prasad Sah, the chief administrative officer, engineer Upendra Prasad Sah, assistant Mohammad Rafiq, and sub-engineer Sashinjan Kumar Singh. Accused of involvement in a scam, they have been told to pay back Rs 779,000.

Others accused include a local government accountant, as well as the chairman, secretary and treasurer of a consumer committee, according to CIAA spokesperson Rajendra Kumar Paudel.
