An Austrian climber has died while descending from the peak of the 6,812-meter Ama Dablam, according to the Department of Tourism.
Martin Hornegger (64) had gone missing during his descent on Saturday morning.
His body was found at the foot of the peak. His body has been brought to Kathmandu. Ama Dablam, located in the Khumbu region in eastern Nepal, is a popular training peak for mountaineers preparing for the ascent of the world’s highest peak, the 8848.84-meter Sagarmatha.
