Nepal will play its second match of the AFC Women’s Asian Cup Qualifier Group F against Sri Lanka today in Uzbekistan. The match kicks off at 6:15 PM Nepali time at Bunyodkor Stadium, Tashkent. Nepal has made one change to the starting eleven from the previous game, with Preeti Rai replacing Saru Limbu.
Anjana Rana Magar remains in goal, with Samikshya Ghimire, Geeta Rana, and Nisha Thokar in defense. The midfield features Preeti Rai, Renuka Nagarkote, Saraswati Hamal, Sabita Rana Magar, and Anita Basnet. Sabitra Bhandari and Rashmi Ghising will lead the attack. Rekha Paudel and Angela Subba are again not in the starting lineup.
Nepal started the tournament with a dominant 9–0 win over Laos, marking its 100th international match. Captain Sabitra Bhandari scored four goals in that game. The match also marked head coach Patrick De Wilde’s debut with the senior national team.
Nepal is aiming to continue its winning form. The team that tops the group will qualify for the 2026 AFC Women’s Asian Cup and gain access to other key international tournaments.
