President Ram Chandra Paudel has conveyed best wishes of happiness, peace, and prosperity to all Nepali women on the occasion of Jitiya Parva, 2082.
The festival, widely celebrated by women from the Tharu, Madhesi, and other communities in Nepal’s Terai, is marked by prayers to Lord Jimutvahan for the health, success, and long life of children and family members. Women observe a strict fast on the eighth day of Krishna Paksha in Ashwin, purifying body and mind while preparing traditional offerings.
In his message, President Paudel noted that Nepal’s diverse cultural festivals, including Jitiya, not only preserve traditions but also promote harmony, unity, and social tolerance. He praised the devotion of women who uphold such practices and said the festival reflects values of family love and respect.
He expressed hope that Jitiya Parva would bring joy to families and strengthen understanding and peaceful coexistence across Nepali society.
