President Ramchandra Paudel has emphasized the need to improve healthcare services and ensure equal access for all citizens.
Speaking at an event organized by the Nepal Medical Association, he highlighted the government's commitment to training skilled and specialist doctors in line with the constitutional mandate.
He urged doctors to view their profession as a service to society, aligning with the values of the constitution. Acknowledging that people in remote areas still lack proper healthcare, he called for serious efforts to deploy skilled medical professionals where they are most needed.
The President reminded that Nepal’s federal democratic constitution guarantees basic rights to healthcare and education, achieved through the struggle and sacrifice of the Nepali people. He encouraged everyone to contribute to the overall development of the health sector and expressed happiness over the increasing number of skilled doctors in the country.
He also praised the Nepal Medical Association’s role in strengthening the healthcare system and ensuring quality medical services.
During the event, he honoured Dr. Gauri Shankar Lal Das, Dr. Mrigendra Raj Pandey, Dr. Dinesh Nath Gangol, Dr. D.B. Karki, and Dr. Saraswoti Padhya with the ‘Legend in Medicine’ award for their contributions to the field.
