President Demands Full Respect For Workers' Rights

President Ramchandra Paudel stressed on the need of advancing the country towards prosperity through economic and physical development as well as he emphasized the need of respect for labor. 
In his address to the Labour Parliament organized by the Joint Trade Union Coordination Center (JTUCC), the President mentioned that the nation's development cannot be solely measured by economic and physical progress; it also includes a humanitarian dimension. 
He reflected on his own experience of working together with farmers and workers for social and economic transformations during his political career.
He emphasized on justice, equitable income, and respect for labor as the foundation of national development. This concept should be the guideline for achieving sustainable development and prosperity in the aftermath of the country's political changes, he added. 

Applauding contributions of workers to the establishment of a federal democratic republic, the President highlighted that the Constitution guarantees labor rights, including collective bargaining, the freedom to form unions and associations, and social security.
