The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) rose by 54.51 points on Sunday, closing at 2,931.55 points.
The market opened at 2,877.02 points and increased by around 18 points during the pre-opening session. It then fell slightly to 2,892.22 points before rising to the day’s highest level of 2,938.9 points in the last 24 minutes. After that, it dropped by about 7 points before the market closed.
Looking at different sectors, only the trading group went down, losing 4.31 points. Out of 13 sectors, 12 went up. Non-life insurance saw the biggest gain, rising by 318.59 points. Six sectors increased by more than 100 points.
The sensitive index, which tracks ‘A’ class companies, also went up by 11.11 points. The total daily trading amount increased to Rs 23.59 billion from Rs 21.22 billion.
Among individual companies, 183 saw their share prices go up, while 73 went down. Kumari Bank Limited had the highest trading, with shares worth Rs 859.61 million.
Six companies hit the maximum gain of 10 percent. These include Corporate Development Bank Limited, Salapa Bikas Bank Limited, Reliance Spinning Mills, Aviyan Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited, Solu Hydropower Limited, and Bhujung Hydropower Limited.
On the other hand, NIC Asia Balanced Fund recorded the biggest loss, dropping by 5.71 percent.
