Vice President Ram Sahay Prasad Yadav has said that the Muslim Commission’s work over the past seven years in promoting the rights, representation, and empowerment of the Muslim community is significant and commendable.

 

Speaking at a special event on Saturday marking the Commission’s 7th anniversary, he praised its role in implementing the constitutional values of equality, justice, and an inclusive federal democratic republic in practice.

 

He noted that the Commission was established under constitutional provisions to provide policy, legal, and institutional recommendations to the Government of Nepal for the protection and promotion of the Muslim community’s rights. According to him, the Commission has been actively working to translate these rights into reality while strengthening the community’s participation in state structures.

 

He added that in a short period, the Commission has carried out various programs in education, employment, women’s empowerment, social harmony, and cultural development, contributing positively to the socio-economic condition of the Muslim community.

 

Vice President Yadav also emphasized that such institutions should be further strengthened to achieve inclusive democracy and called for better coordination among all bodies to build a just and equitable society.

 

At the event, provincial leaders also extended their best wishes and stressed the importance of continuing efforts for the social, cultural, and economic empowerment of the Muslim community.
