Nepali Communist Party (NCP) Coordinator Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, who filed his nomination from Rukum East on Tuesday, visited key sites linked to the Maoist armed conflict in the district on Wednesday.
He inspected the Rukumkot police post, which was seized during the People’s War. A war museum now stands there, and Prachanda promised to further develop and organize the site.
Prachanda also started a door-to-door campaign in Rukum East. During his visits, he met families of martyrs, including the mothers of Sita Ghartimagar and Jeevan Kaji. He said the sacrifices of the martyrs are not forgotten and that the government has already started programs to honor them. He also promised to continue protecting their rights.
Earlier in the day, Prachanda met with senior communist leaders, party workers, and local residents, encouraging them to support the Nepali Communist Party in the upcoming election.
