Nepali Communist Party Coordinator Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ is leaving for New Delhi, India, today.
This is his first visit to Delhi since the formation of the Nepali Communist Party through the merger of several parties, including the former Maoist Centre and Unified Socialist, following the Gen-Z protests on September 8 and 9, 2025.
According to his chief personal secretary, Govinda Acharya, Prachanda is traveling to Delhi to speak at a “unity message meeting” organized by diaspora organizations linked to the former Maoist Centre, former Unified Socialist, and other allied groups.
Acharya said the meeting was planned about a month ago and that Prachanda will address the program as scheduled. He is expected to leave this evening and return home by Monday.
With elections set for March 5, Prachanda’s visit is being closely watched. However, his secretariat has made it clear that he has no other political engagements in Delhi apart from the unity message meeting.
