Prime Minister Sushila Karki visited Janaki Mandir, where she was warmly welcomed by chief priest Ram Tapeshwar Das and his successor Ram Roshan Das. They offered her a flower garland and prasad, and the temple priests performed a traditional blessing ceremony.

After the पूजा, the Prime Minister looked around the temple area and was briefed about its management and importance. She told reporters that her visit was purely for religious purposes.

She said that Janakpurdham is an important religious and cultural center of Nepal. She also stressed that the government is committed to protecting and promoting the country’s religious and historical heritage.

The Prime Minister added that the government plans to develop Janakpurdham into an international religious tourism destination. She said the interim government is focused on good governance, development, and stability, and will work together with all stakeholders.

Earlier, at Janakpur Airport, she was welcomed by provincial ministers, security officials, and Chief District Officer Prem Prasad Luintel.
